Cosplayers, artists and pop-culture fans convened at the Little Wild Wolves Youth and Community Center on Oct. 26 to participate in the center’s first Rezz Con.

Similar to events like Comic-Con, the convention welcomed in vendors and Tribal entities to take part in pop-culture fun with a Native twist that promotes community wellness. Unlike traditional conventions, however, organizers wanted to make entry to the event free for community members to ensure any and all families would be able to attend.

With the Halloween spirit still in full swing, plenty of vendors had candy to hand out and festive games to play at their booths. Visitors were also able to receive comic books alongside Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering trading cards upon entry courtesy of Gabi’s Olympic Cards and Comics.

Attendees enjoyed a thunderous drum and dance performance by MO’O, and competed in a multi-category cosplay contest with winners of all ages taking home prizes. Winners were also awarded with plaques to commemorate their victory as the crowd cheered them on.

With the success of the convention this year, the Little Wild Wolves Youth and Community Center hopes to host the event annually.
