Dear Tribal Community,
A Tribal employee who works at Grandview Early Learning Center has tested positive for COVID-19. As with previous cases, staff responded quickly and followed procedures, including a two-week closure and deep cleaning of the building. The employee participated and interacted with families at Grandview’s outdoor Halloween parade and event on Oct. 28 and walked through Tribal Admin’s Halloween event on Oct. 29. Grandview Director David Turnipseed is in communication with families as part of the contact tracing.
“If you were at either of the events, please get tested if you begin experiencing any symptoms, such as a sore throat, fever or cough,” said Tribal Medical Director Dr. Alan Shelton. “We believe the risk, especially at the Admin event, was low due to masks and social distancing.”
The Tribe has taken numerous measures to ensure the safety of our employees during the coronavirus outbreak, including encouraging teleworking for positions that allow, implementing social distancing, installing Plexiglas barriers, remodeling building entries, and conducting regular cleaning and disinfection of buildings.
