The WIC Program (Women, Infant, and Children’s Supplemental Food Program) helps support and improve the nutrition of pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children.
Starting June 1, the fruit and vegetable benefits for WIC participants increased to $35 per participant for four months. Previously, the value of the fruit and vegetable voucher was $9 for children and $11 for women.
PTHA’s WIC program is scheduling appointments in-person and through telehealth. If you are pregnant or have children under age 5, call us to see if you are eligible. You might qualify for WIC even if you’re working. WIC also provides information about feeding your family and breastfeeding.
If you are a WIC participant, please take advantage of this increased benefit. If you know WIC participants, please encourage them to buy more fruits and vegetables with their benefit. It can make a positive difference. Call PTHA for more information 253-593-0232.
