Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19, Tribal Buildings Remain Closed

Dear Tribal Community,

A tribal employee tested positive for COVID-19 today. Our COVID-19 Response Team took immediate action, including contact tracing. In addition, Tribal Administration is scheduling a deep cleaning of the Puyallup Tribal Integrative Medicine (PTIM) Building, due to a COVID-19 case reported today by a Tribal entity. The entity is conducting its own contact tracing and COVID-19 procedures. It will open at 8 a.m.

Reminder: Tribal Administration proactively closed all Tribal government buildings through Dec. 14 to help slow the spread. Access by employees is limited, although services to the Membership are continuing. Employees are expected to telework, and paid administrative leave is provided to those unable to telework, with supervisory approval.

The Tribe has taken numerous measures to ensure the safety of our employees during the coronavirus outbreak, including encouraging teleworking for positions that allow, implementing social distancing, installing Plexiglas barriers, remodeling building entries, and conducting regular cleaning and disinfection of buildings.

You can learn more about steps you can take to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 on our website:

Stay well. Stay safe.
