The Puyallup Tribe’s charitable giving program is strong and is making a difference throughout the region.
In fiscal year 2019, the tribe gave nearly $2 million in charitable contributions under its gaming compact with the state, and another $2 million above and beyond the agreement. Dozens of organizations large and small received awards.
Here are just a few:
- American Cancer Society, $50,000
- Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound, $25,000
- Hilltop Artists, $9,000
- Making a Difference Foundation, $50,000
- Nourish Pierce County food bank, $45,000
- Rescue Mission, $50,000
- Special Olympics Washington, $30,000
- Tahoma Indian Center, $50,000
- Tacoma Public Schools Indian Education program, $75,000
